Dear Senator Sessions,
Recently, the U.S. Senate in a bipartisan effort voted 75-22 to make public education more affordable for veterans at in-state universities. This is a step towards honoring the troops that put their lives on the line.
Sen. Richard Shelby voted in favor of this bill, while you opposed this important piece of legislation that is favored by Veterans Organizations. I disagree with your contention that supporting increased educational benefits for veterans would cause retention problems.
Supporting our troops means more than photos opportunities and lip service speeches. A strong GI Bill will enhance military recruitment and encourage our troops that they can receive a quality education.
We are close to signing an important piece of legislation and we urge you to ask the President not to veto this bill.

Support our troops for real instead of just talking about it.
