The Black Prince Community Hub was created for the Community, to be managed and run by a 50% representation of the Community. Click 'here' for the story of how disused buildings became the hub of a South London Estate.
Under new management there is currently no representation of the Community on the Board and there is no proper delivery of the free programmes that the site was set up for, and given to the Community to provide.
Instead, programmes have been offered to 'partners' for a
fee, and subsequently presented as if they are free to the Community, which is misleading and wrong.
The team who worked so hard to secure The Hub for the Community has been pushed out and the site has been taken over by a group that has no idea what The Community wants and needs. Their jobs have been given to others, without any explanation.
The Community, who fought alongside us to be awarded the site by Lambeth Council, are no longer represented.
We have
tried to get the Board of Trustees of The Hub to listen to our concerns;
especially the only remaining original Board member, who is also our local MP. Meetings have been requested, but requests have been refused.
We have been left with no
choice but to take the concerns to you all, the Community.

Sad to hear that our community Gym will be taken away from us. This place as well as our personal trainer (Philip) help me get back my confidence since I lost 12 pounds and get pregnant as required by the doctor. #don'tcloseblackprincecommunitygym
The hub and all the people that run the clubs are very good and because is for the community it help the kids to have goal a spence of belonging.
The Power League are actually a nuisance to the local residents. Black Prince Trust have allowed a commercial enterprise to ruin the quiet enjoyment of neighbouring properties.
Have been supporting this cause for many years. After 2 years of fighting the space was saved from luxury development but our children who lived for football at Waterloo FC were squeezed out and access was allowed only to paying groups. Big disappointment. I want to see our local kids there again. The space has proved to be a saviour for many...with great thanks to Arnie Reynolds, tireless football coach at Waterloo, and his wife Maria, for years of dedication.
Power League are not a community enterprise organisation. They are a commercial enterprise which has created a massive amount of noise and light pollution. Black Princrs Trust is alienating the very community that created is no longer inclusive to community members and is causing huge nuisance problems in community. Power League Out!

It's so important that the community has a hub and is run by the community for the community. With council's cutting services it is vital for the council that these centres, which are run with very little input needed by the council, are allowed to be community centres as they provide a vital contact point for the council to the actual community. I have no idea how the process happened that the community is no longer in charge of the centre - but if it was well run before - why can't the Council step up action and get the representatives back?
