Graduation Order
For years our school has recognized the kids graduating with honors by announcing each honor in high to low order and the kids in it alphabetically, then moving on to the rest of the class. However, because that is “unequal” “logistically difficult” SAC and Administration have changed it to be only alphabetical this year. Honors students could have found their niche in athletics, music, art, or even hobbies, but instead their dedication went to what they did in the classroom (some even achieving more beyond this). The kids who worked tirelessly and competed for their spots at the top over the past four years see this alphabetical system as unfair since academics were their main focus (not sports, art, etc.), and graduation is the place where they get the moment of recognition for it among the students they worked hard alongside of. While they see that everybody is achieving the honor of graduation, there is a good portion of students that went the extra mile and exerted their efforts towards getting the high honor they deserve on this day. Please sign this to keep our graduation the way it has been in the past. Nearly 300 of 560 students would like to walk across the stage amongst others who had the same goals and tried with all their heart to achieve them.
