I Say No... You are probably not aware as the university have been sneaking new policies into place while you have been away. But as of the 1st September there is going to be some major cost implications to you all. The university has decided that its going to charge student residents and visitors for parking they are going to be installing pay and display machines and have contracted a private company to ticket and clamp vehicles that do not pay or park in the correct bays. You may have noticed that before you left, the university had double yellow lines painted everywhere now you know why! Birmingham University charges students £1 for all day parking, Greenwich plans to Charge £3. We ask why so much we get no reply! They told us today that they now also plan to charge us to use the inter-campus bus service and that each journey will be £1, so that would be £2 return. The student union is asking all staff and students to support it in its campaign sign this petition, and invite all of your university friends.
