The Insanity Defence is outdated and in need of change! The world has reverted to various standards for the Insanity defence instead there should be one universal standard. Everyone should be equal under the law. There are ten times more mentally ill people in jails than in hospitals therefore medical attention is needed in both institutions. Instead of being sentences to an asylum, those proven insane should stay in a jail cell, whilst receiving medical attention. Once they are deemed "cured" they must maintain in jail until they complete their sentence.

YES. lock them up and treat them. why is this so hard for the courts to figure out???
about time someone said this. jails are full of people who need actual doctors not just a cell and a pat on the back.
