The Gulf of Mexico should be renamed to the Gulf of America. It's pretty simple. First of all, the US has 1495 miles of shoreline on the Gulf, while Mexico only has 1250 miles. That alone should be enough reason. But we also protect the gulf via regulation and military efforts that cost taxpayer dollars. And, Frankly, it's just a better name.
