Grand View Health finally backed down and dropped the mandate. We refused to let them throw away our best staff and they had no choice but to listen. Stay alert because we need to make sure they do not try to pull this garbage again.

  1. Dear Grand View Health administration,

We are writing to you today to urge the administration to continue to stay neutral on COVID-19 vaccination mandates. We understand there must be tremendous pressure to follow suit with other healthcare systems in the area, but we believe this vaccine mandate will ultimately prove detrimental to GVH and our community. We, the undersigned, have been praised as front-line heroes and have continued to show up every day to care for our patients throughout this entire pandemic. We ARE the best defense against COVID-19. We have weathered this storm so far, and it’s wrong for us to abandon those who are just not yet ready to take the vaccine. We know that staffing is already very tight in many places and a mandate will make a bad situation that much worse as COVID numbers are already starting to rise in our area and we anticipate another potential surge in our area this fall. We are in this together, both vaccinated and unvaccinated and we want to continue to provide high quality care to those in our community as we have done since March of 2020. We thank you for your time and consideration.

The Grand View Health administration cannot keep ignoring the growing wall of resistance from the very people who keep this hospital running. This momentum proves that we refuse to be discarded after everything we have endured on the front lines.

I’ve been vaccinated, but fully support my co-workers who choose not to at this time. RN- labor and delivery

While I have been vaccinated I know that some of my coworkers are not comfortable getting the vaccine. I know they take all necessary precautions and they shouldn't lose their jobs if they choose not to be vaccinated.

I believe it should be everyone’s right to make their own decision. Why not do COVID testing every 2 weeks for those that don’t want the vaccine.

Hospital staff used to be regarded as heroes. They battled through the height of the pandemic without vaccines and now all of a sudden if they make informed decisions to not take an experimental vaccine they are now seen as villains. Total double standard!

We have difficultly retaining staff as it is. If we mandate the vaccine we will have a serious staffing emergency because many will leave.

I believe we should have the choice to receive this shot or not. It should not be mandatory as we do not yet know if there will be negative long term side effects. (I do pray there aren’t any, many people I care deeply about have received the shot) I would like to continue to have the freedom to take care of my health the way I feel is best, as I have all my life. Thank you.

Please do not cave to political pressure! There is no long term human data on this injection and making it mandatory is wrong.

The “vaccine” should not be forced upon anyone!
