To: The Holme Valley Parish Council and Kirklees Council
We call on yourselves to urgently take action to tackle speeding through the village of Hade Edge, Holmfirth BEFORE a serious injury or accident occurs.
The main area affected is Dunford Road through the village, around the crossroads, near the Hade Edge Junior and Infant School and Hade Edge Pre-School and Toddler Group.
Concerns have been raised with the council on many occasions from residents and the local village committee.
To help with this issue we suggest a light up speed warning signs to alert drivers of their speed and more warning signs, to help resolve this issue, plus a regular police presence with speed traps to catch offenders.
"There have been near misses, we know there hasn't been a fatality, but surely it is better to prevent that happening than just sit and wait, it is only a matter of time before a child gets hit !!!"
