We are a group of fourth year nursing students, lobbying a local London grocery store to install hand hygiene stations! We would like to implement these sanitizing stations throughout the entire grocery store with signage at each station to bring about awareness and enhance utilization.The idea is to sanitize before, during, and after your entire visit to the grocery store to reduce the transmission of communicable and infectious agents. The current outbreak of H1N1 has triggered a global response in terms of personal protective measures. Shopping carts are a reservoir for bacterial growth and viral transmission. Cleaning your hands is the most appropriate and effective method of combating the spread of H1N1 and other harmful germs. Our goal is to reduce the transmission of harmful microorganisms that cause illness and disease, and promote healthier lifestyles and futures!
