I've loved the 'regenerated' (ahem) Doctor Who series since it returned to our screens with Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper but while Capaldi is a brilliant actor, he, like Matt Smith, suffered from often poor scripts and a companion that would often outshine them. I believe we need a change to reinvigorate the series. Something that would do that, in my view, is making the Doctor female. Missy has shown that a character can be popular with the fan base regardless of their gender and I believe, after a long while, it's time for a woman to take the role for a spin.

Having seen this fantastic photoshopped image by artist Andy Law today, it just seemed so obvious. Wowing fans with her role of Peggy Carter in Marvel's Captain America: The First Avenger and Agent Carter, she seems the perfect choice. She's popular with fans of all kinds, can be action orientated, empathic, and emotive.

So PLEASE BBC! Make it happen!

I Think for a first Female Dr. Who they couldn't ask for a better Actress than Hayley Atwell. She will continue to get my vote. Unless (Jenna Colman) gets in the running for the Dr.
