Forty years ago, the signing of the Paris Peace Accords ended active U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War. However, the uncertainty of the families of now more than 1,600 U.S. personnel still missing and unaccounted for from that war has not yet ended. Today, these families, the veteran’s community and other concerned citizens are looking to you to return America’s missing heroes. You assured us on Memorial Day, 2012, that achieving the
fullest possible accounting for US personnel still missing is and will remain a priority for the United States. Your strong commitment, echoed by the Secretary of Defense, was greeted with enthusiasm, recognizing the importance of signaling our active duty military and world leaders of our nation’s commitment to return those fighting for the cause of freedom – alive or dead – if captured or missing.

We, the undersigned Americans implore you, as President and Commander in Chief of our Armed Forces, to ensure, in this time of budget uncertainty, that funding and personnel necessary to achieve the fullest possible accounting are available to signal the reality of your commitment to the families, veterans and our active duty service members. In addition to necessary resources, we ask you to transmit throughout the administration your personal commitment to obtaining the fullest possible accounting for our missing from all our past wars.

We are not soliciting donations. If you come to a donation page after you sign, it is for iPetitions, not us. You can close out of the page and your signature will still be captured. Thank you!!
