The Chilliwack Fair Board finally realized they cannot erase our history just to satisfy the Vancouver Humane Society and their baseless agenda. Rodeo is here to stay in our town because we refused to back down when they came for our heritage. Keep watching these city hall bureaucrats because we …

Help us save the rodeo in Chilliwack. The Vancouver Humane Society is campaigning to have the City of Chilliwack and the Chilliwack Fair Board, ban Tie-down Roping and Steer Wrestling. This will in fact end the BCRA Rodeo that we hold at the fair each year. We need your help to stand up to them and show them that rodeo is not in fact animal cruelty, it is part of our Western Canadian Heritage and History and we want to continue to honor that heritage and showcase the skills that are used daily in the ranching community. Show them that we still want Rodeo in Chilliwack.

We just hit 100 signatures and the Vancouver Humane Society is going to hate seeing this number climb. Keep pushing so these radical groups realize they cannot just erase our heritage whenever they feel like it.

I am for saving the rodeo in Chilliwack. My Grandfather was a rodeo cowboy, and Ilearned the love of animals from him. It is not cruel!

Rodeo is a vital part of our heritage. The stock keepers of the steers treat them so good. These steers are highly monitored by veterinarians and the steers are a part of the ranchers lively hood. I've never seen anyone mistreat the rodeo animals and I am very involved with rodeos.

I have been attending the rodeo and fair for over 30 years, its a wonderful experience for anyone to attend and there is absolutely no harm induced on the live stock. These animals are peoples lively hood and are treated with care, respect and love. I wonder what the protesters eat?

The folks saying there's abuse in rodeo need to get out from behind their computers, drive out of the city and come see the sport, the people and the animals in person. These folks do more to help animals than the Vancouver Humane Society ever will. It might not always be gentle, (Mother Nature herself rarely is), but it's not abuse.

Rodeos have given my kids a confidence in themselves that they wouldn't have anyway else. It brings out passion, character, and respect for animals and others.

This is so disappointing. People who preach and don't understand or know all the facts is so frustrating. I wish these people would take the rodeo tour with the stock contractor and learn more before assuming we r abusing the animals.
