Children with incarcerated parents tend to fall into their parents' footsteps due to neglect and start to lose interest in school from not having their parent push them towards success, and may also develop mental health problems from the effect of the imprisonment, which is why programs should be created and school counselors should be more involved in children's lives to push them towards the right direction and away from being incarcerated as well.
