Rancho Murieta, and Eastern Sacramento County desperately need ALL WEATHER ACCESS TO EMERGENCY SERVICES. New Year’s flooding on the Cosumnes River left our 6,000 residents stranded in three directions. The nearest, reachable hospital was 31 miles away on treacherous windblown streets with downed trees and debris. The “D2” eliminates flooding, improves drainage and ends the deplorable road conditions on the current Grant Line Road. The “NEW D2” is a critical part of our community evacuation plan. Rancho Murieta is a CALFIRE “HIGH RISK” COMMUNITY ! We are desperate for a this critical escape route and LIVES MAY DEPEND ON IT! The “NEW D2” modernizes the intersection of Grant Line Road and SR16. “THE NEW D2” eases legendary commuter congestion. We rely HEAVILY on Rancho Cordova and Folsom for medical and retail services THE NEW D2 saves gas, reduces carbon and is an economic engine. SACOG has denied this funding before.
