WE THE UNDERSIGNED DEMAND THAT MICHIGAN ANTI CRUELTY SOCIETY's EMPLOYEES ARE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THEFT & ASSAULT!

Michigan Anti Cruelty Society (13569 Joseph Campau DETROIT) is the highest kill shelter in Michigan with the worst performance on record. They kill 80% of the dogs & cats brought into their facility, last year alone 4,535 animals were cremated in their on-site incinerator. A group of dedicated animal advocates have been protesting the M.A.C.S. Facility for over a year.

During a protest on December 16th 2016, Michigan Anti Cruelty Society employees chased down and assaulted protesters.

An owner of a small dog pulled up to Michigan Anti Cruelty Society (a high kill shelter) to surrender her dog. The owner decided to give the dog to protesters instead of bringing the dog into the shelter.

4 Michigan Anti Cruelty Society employees (Deborah Thurman, Linda Hagar, Art Alvarado, & Ashlee Wright) came out of the building, chased the protester to her vehicle, entered her vehicle, assaulted her, & violently stole the dog from the protester. All the while blocking the way of & intimidating the other protester that was present, preventing her from helping. *The dog suffered injuries as a result of this altercation & was later adopted out by Michigan Anti Cruelty Society having received no medical care for her leg injury. (It healed improperly & would need to be re-broken to fix her leg).

Charges were filed with Detroit Police, BUT the Assistant Prosecutor Tara Mathena is REFUSING to hold Michigan Anti Cruelty Society's employees responsible for their actions. She is claiming that there is "not enough evidence that a crime has been committed"
