Go ahead and sign this petition first if you choose. ***************** We, the undersigned, Believe the \"Hollywood elite\" are openly hostile to the attitudes, opinions, and values of millions of Americans. We believe the \"Hollywood elite\" routinely promotes left-wing causes, candidates, ideas and personalities in their statements and films. We believe the \"Hollywood elite\" generally portray Conservatives, Libertarians, Republicans, Christians, Southerners, business owners, gun owners, and others who disagree with their left-wing worldview, negatively in films. We believe the \"Hollywood elite\" have a right to support any cause they choose, even if we disagree with it. We also support the \"Hollywood elite’s\" right to make statements on matters of public policy. And we support their right to produce any film they desire. But we want the \"Hollywood elite\" to understand that millions of Americans do not agree with their political and social agendas. We do not appreciate those in the Hollywood community who condemn the United States while visiting places like Cuba and Europe. And we want the \"Hollywood elite\" to understand that we have grown weary of the left-wing bias in their films. We hereby ask the heads of the major motion picture studios to consider these grievances, and to seek a remedy for them. We suggest that an effort be made to produce films which reflect the attitudes, values, opinions and traditions of the MAJORITY in this great republic. (Feb 2002 Harris Poll: Only 19% of Americans identify themselves as liberal) For example, if the studios release a positive film about a Marxist (“Frida”, starring Selma Hyak) then the studios should consider releasing an upbeat film about an anti-communist leader. If the studios make a film about a courageous liberal president (“The American President”, starring Michael Douglas), they should also release a positive film about an heroic conservative president. There are scores of liberal films without a conservative counterpart. This is not fair to the millions of conservatives and libertarians who are yearning for movies suited to their tastes. We are not asking the studios to stop making films with liberal messages. We are just asking the studios to make a few films with conservative/libertarian messages. We are asking for fairness and balance! This petition will be delivered to executives of the major motion picture studios and television networks by Sept. 11, 2003. Those signing this petition should consider supporting the following non-profit organization: The American Patriot Film Festival PO Box 2445 Little Rock, Ar 72203-2445 This organization seeks to host a film festival to counter-balance Robert Redford’s Sundance Film Festival. The American Patriot Film Festival will showcase films that are patriotic, pro-military, and express traditional, conservative, libertarian, and American values. Several cities are being considered as possible host locations. The festival will also promote films made by conservative and libertarian filmmakers (those who often get shut out of the other liberal festivals) Traditional classic films will also be shown. Thousands of dollars have already been raised for the project!!!!! Nationally known personalities have been contacted in order to make celebrity appearances. If successful, this festival will shock the Hollywood Left more than anything since the inception of Tinsel Town. But it needs your support!
