It is common to hear in today's society, "Be the you, you want to be." This isn't always supported, though.

It's hard to be yourself as a teenager when you are pushed into a gender role, quite the same as a cube pushed into a circular hole. But how old is old enough to make the decision if you want to change?

Is fourteen old enough to want long hair? Is twelve too young to ask for short hair? Or new clothes?

Is sixteen old enough to get testosterone shots? I believe it is.
