Reconsider requests for a District IB Budget Secretary and increased funding for the position of the IB Program Coordinator at Humble High
The IB Program started at Humble with a District IB Director as well as a
District IB Secretary providing support to the school Program Coordinators.
Over the years the people in these positions have moved on and the
District has not replaced anyone into their positions thereby
exponentially increasing the responsibilities and work load of the IB
Coordinators especially the High School Coordinator without increasing
the monetary compensation. This creates and untenable imbalance in the
position making it difficult to keep dedicated, quality personnel in
place for extended periods of time. Ultimately, this will erode the
stability and retard the growth of the Program. The school district
initially set up a three legged support system (Director,
Secretary & Coordinator) and have subsequently pulled out two of its
legs. This needs to be remedied before the entire program begins to
fail.
The IB Program is a proven success model for the Humble ISD students.
This year alone over $3,720,000.00 million in scholarships was awarded
to the 54 Students in the IB class. Our IB Students have been granted
admission to some of the most prestige schools in and out of State
Including: Rice, UT Austin, Texas A & M, Texas Tech, Baylor, Sam
Houston, U of H, as well as The United States Air Force Academy,
Harvard, Vanderbilt, Cornell, Howard, and Manchester University in UK.
Please sign the petition below to request adequate funding and personnel
to make this program a continued and growing success. This will allow
the program to keep the most dedicated and caring professionals that go
above and beyond their job description, like Mrs. Petree.
