SE Oakville Accommodation (Ward 3) - Hybrid Option
Individuals from SE Oakville School Councils and former PARC members have joined together to develop a Hybrid option for consideration by the Halton District School Board (HDSB). This Hybrid which is a variation of the 'C' options was submitted to the HDSB during the survey and focus group process. The HDSB has provided enrolment, bussing and financial data for this Hybrid and it can be found by clicking the link on the right. The rationale for this Hybrid supports common themes which emerged from the survey; • Neighbourhood schools • Geographic balance – east, west, north • No bussing across Royal Windsor • Single-track French Immersion for grades 1-6 • Intermediate grouping (Grades 7 & 8) • Central location for French Immersion & Intermediate Programs • Minimizes bussing • Equal upgrades and renovations to remaining schools This Hybrid also satisfies the HDSB's parameters. • Educationally Sound • Financially Responsible • Political/Community Support With respect to K-8 or 1-8 configurations, we are asking the HDSB to consider grouping Grades 7-8 who reside south of Royal Windsor Road at one location to provide optimal programming and ease of transition into Grade 9 at Oakville Trafalgar High School. Proposed Hybrid Option: • JK-6 English Elementary East (Chisholm) • JK-6 English Elementary West (Brantwood or New Central) • JK-8 Dual-Track Elementary North (Clearview) • 1-6 Single-Track French Immersion Central (Maple Grove) • 7-8 Dual-Track Intermediate Program Central (Maple Grove - separate new addition) • 9-12 Dual-Track Secondary Central (Oakville Trafalgar High School) Detailed information on the rationale for this Hybrid can be obtained by forwarding your request to the e-mail address on the right.
