I support the Ossining School Facilities Bond
On March 6, residents of the Ossining School District will vote on a bond to fund major infrastructure and capital maintenance projects in the District's schools. Total cost of the 41.6 million dollar bond, after adding interest costs and subtracting New York State Building Aid, is 39.6 million dollars.
I support this bond because:
* The district's aging facilities urgently require serious remediation, including replacement of boilers, roofs, and windows. The bond addresses these needs as well as life safety concerns.
* The financing of the bond will not increase current debt spending levels, as the new debt will replace previous bond debt now being paid off.
* The flat debt approach means local property taxes will not increase due to the new bond.
More information about this bond can be found at http://www.ossiningcfs.com/.
