As many members of STARFLEET, The International Star Trek Fan Association have already heard, the current President of STARFLEET, Robin Woodell-Vitasek, has terminated Robert Westfall from his role as Chief of Operations.

The reason for this termination/removal was because Mr. Westfall voted in opposition to a first class award nomination for a member of STARFLEET which was unrelated to a STARFLEET event/activity.

The reason for Mr. Westfall's termination/removal from position demonstrates gross incompetence on the part of Ms. Woodell-Vitasek, and the method that she terminated/removed Mr. Westfall from his role was deplorable and executed in an entirely disrespectful and inane manner.

The requested transfer of Membership Processing materials, the second time this would take place this year, represents an unnecessary and excessive expense to the organization, and demonstrates an unwise act for the organization to undertake, especially given the recent issues and concerns with delays in processing membership packets that have been encountered as a result of other recent changes.

The situation created by Ms. Woodell-Vitasek has caused damage to STARFLEET's reputation, both as viewed by members of the organization, as well as our peers in various fandom communities.

We, the undersigned members of STARFLEET, feel that it is time now to request the removal of Robin Woodell-Vitasek as the President of STARFLEET on the grounds of gross incompetence, unnecessary (and unwise) use of financial resources, and due to damage to STARFLEET's name and reputation.

The summary removal of ANY officer without due process, unless for purposes of a capitol crime, is conduct unbecoming of an officer, and should be treated as such.

As CO of the USS Heimdal in R/1, I believe that Ms. Woodell-Vitasek does not possess the maturity or the ability to be in a leadership position in Starfleet. My concern is for the organization & its continuation as a VIABLE organization. I believe Ms. Woodell-Vitasek is incapable of leading the organization to that end & may, instead, damage it irreparably.

SCC 62969 This is gross misuse of the office, this is a volunteer organization and has bylaws and rules which must be followed. CS must be impeached.

Removal from officer, not for problems with assigned duties but for failing to agree with the issue of an award is inappropriate use of power.

I was waiting until I was able to get Robin's side of it before deciding to sign this. Having read the report she sent out regarding the termination of ADM Westfall, I feel that this termination was completely unwarranted. Therefore, I support the motion to remove ADM Woodell-Vitasik as President and CEO of STARFLEET.

Even if Adm. Westfall needed to be dismissed for cause, of which I'm skeptical, the manner in which this was handled was disrespectful to us all. [SCC: 14560]

I agree w/ the reasons for this petition and although I regret the necessity for such actions, I'd like to add my name to those signing this petition.
