The current state of education in rural regions of Ireland is a matter of grave concern. A study from 2016 revealed that 37.7% of the population in these areas only had a Lower Secondary Education, and among those with a bachelor's degree, merely 18% were from rural areas. This stark disparity signifies an urgent need for action to ensure that educational opportunities are not determined by geographical location. We call on the government to take immediate steps towards improving access to quality education in rural Ireland and bridging this educational gap.
