We the citizens of Longview, Texas and participants with the East Texas Little League Football comprised of 42 teams an estimated 650 primary aged youth, hereby petition the City of Longview Parks and Recreation Board and Department to provide equal and adequate facilities at the Mary C. Womack Football Fields (Stamper Park Fields area) for our youth to play football during the fall.

There is insufficient parking for the amount of residents who drive to the games, there has been a major reduction of allowable places in 2014. The hard surfaces have been inadequately kept, nowvegetation decreases the access for the physically challenged. Fences have been damaged by lawn equipment and need repair. Due to chemical usage along boundaries, grassy areas have decreased and erosion is not properly deflected. The concession stand has not been updated and needs replacement.

We demand funds be allocated to maintain and increase parking areas, new retaining walls be built in areas of erosion, hard surfaces to be cleared and proper materials replacement, fencing be replaced where contractor equipment has damaged the barrier, along with a comparable PARD concession stand built at the Mary C. Womack Football Fields.
