This is a petition to request in the recognition of ex New York Knicks basketball player Charles Oakley's status as an all time great player and legend for the New York Knicks franchise.
Charles Oakley's body of work as a member of the organisation is well documented, being a key player in the 1994 playoff push to the NBA finals, a contributor for the eastern conference finals in 1993 and an all round fan favourite for his incredible effort and integrity on the court.
Leaving him out of the New York's Knicks legends does the fans of the franchise a disservice, as well as the franchise itself.

I have been a New York Knick fan since 1973. I have been disappointed many times since 1973 with this team but what happened with Charles Oakley at the Garden is a total disgrace and it is making me think about choosing another NBA team to follow
You can't do that to legend who gave his sweat his body to the garden Dolan is wrong for that
This man is one of the most beloved Knicks....He deserves way more respect and should have life long free admission to MSG. Shameful treatment!!!!!

This is a no brainer. Oakley has been a pillar of the organization for 10 years. He stuck fear in any and all opposing players who weren't in a Knick uniform. We need what he could still bring daily, back in NY.

Oakley is and was all heart for the Knicks. It's a shame how he is being treated. No one who gave as much as I did should be treated like that. This made our organization look extremely bad. Very saddening.

Oakley was the heart and soul to the 90's knick defense. It was Charles Oakley that helped the Knicks reach the playoffs as often as they did. He crashes those boards, jumped into the stands to recover the ball with no refused to his life.. thats cause he gave all he's got to New York. He is New York. Give him and the fans what he deserves. I am Oakley!
