There are 2 countries in the EU that do not provide IVF under the public system - Ireland and Lithuania. Infertility is classed as a disease, which effects more than just the person that is diagnosed with it. Many of these couples cannot include the €4,000 to €6,000 per round that IVF costs, especially where many rounds may actually be required. In Northern Ireland, residents are entitled to 1 round under the NHS. In England, residents are entitled to 1,2 and even 3 rounds depending on their postcode. I personally know of people borrowing from parents, banks, and even remortgaging their homes to try fund IVF. It is wrong that some plastic surgery is available under the health system but not even 1 round of IVF is available to people who are already going through undescribable heartache.
Reaching this point has been physically and emotionally draining but it proves we are not alone in this fight. The sheer volume of people who share this burden is heavy to carry yet it gives me the resolve to keep pushing forward.

its shameful that people have to go into debt just to start a family. fix this now.
