A push to get iRacing.com to build a Road Racing Safety Car system that could potentially be used in any official server, any hosted server (pending race length), and more importantly their Endurance races and Special Event races.

There currently is no automated safety car system based around road racing and so within races/events (where iRacing are trying to turn real life into virtual one) we don't get the realism of those real life conditions. If there is a major crash, there is no control over the field, if there is extreme weather, there is no control over the field etc.

These are a few reasons why we should try to get behind this petition in a positive attempt to have iRacing.com write/build a road racing safety car system.

What else will it bring to the table?
If you haven't signed yet and want more reasons why we should push for this system, please read on below.

1. **Enhanced Realism**

**Immersive Experience:** Implementing a safety car system would add to the authenticity of the racing experience, making it more closely resemble real-life Motorsport events.

**Learning Curve:** Drivers can learn about the nuances of safety car periods, including restarts, pit strategies, and maintaining tire temperatures, which are crucial aspects of real-world racing.

2. **Improved Safety**

**Controlled Environment:** A safety car system can help manage accidents more effectively, ensuring that drivers slow down and avoid further collisions during incidents on the track.

**Risk Management:** Reducing the chances of high-speed crashes when there are obstacles or debris on the track, thereby protecting virtual cars and enhancing driver safety.

3. **Strategic Depth**

**Pit Strategies:** The introduction of safety car periods can add another layer of strategy, as drivers and teams must decide when to pit, how to manage tire wear, and fuel loads under these conditions.

**Race Dynamics:** The bunching up of cars during safety car periods can lead to more exciting restarts and closer racing, increasing the overall excitement and unpredictability of the race.

4. **Community and Competitive Benefits**

**Uniform Rules:** A standardized safety car system can ensure consistency in how races are managed across different leagues and events within iRacing.

**Enhanced Competitions:** Leagues and tournaments can offer a more professional and regulated racing environment, attracting more serious and skilled competitors.

5. **Technological Advancements**

**Simulation Accuracy:** Developing a safety car system requires advancements in AI and race control algorithms, pushing the boundaries of what iRacing's simulation can achieve.

**Driver Behavior Analysis:** It can help in analyzing and improving driver behavior under safety car conditions, providing valuable data for both the developers and the racers.

6. **User Engagement and Retention**

**Feature Appeal:** Introducing a safety car system can be a significant draw for both new and existing users, offering a more complete racing simulation experience.

**Community Feedback:** Engaging with the community to develop and refine the safety car system can foster a sense of collaboration and investment among users.

7. **Broadcasting and Spectator Experience**

**Enhanced Broadcasts:** Safety car periods can create natural breaks in the action, allowing for replays, analysis, and commentary, making the broadcasts more engaging.

**Viewer Excitement:** Restarts and the strategic implications of safety cars can create suspense and excitement for viewers, enhancing the overall spectator experience.

By implementing a road racing safety car system, iRacing can significantly improve the realism, safety, strategic depth, and overall enjoyment of its racing simulation platform, benefiting both drivers and spectators alike.
