On September 5, 2020, at 7:52 pm, Ms. Manrique, a VP board member of Niles Township High Schools District 219 posted a vulgar statement on Twitter, "Sex work is work."

Her tweet is not only appalling but disturbing coming from someone who sits on the board to oversee educational goals. It's as if she is condoning sex work as a career path.

In addition to this disturbing post, her behavior in many other instances has been unacceptable and not helpful during these unprecedented times where families are experiencing many levels of hardship.

Ms. Manrique's advocating to remove SRO's from the school, during a time where public safety is most critical is not welcome. She has, on several occasions, attacked the Skokie Police Department and continues to post vulgar tweets.

It is beyond comprehension that the school board would allow this type of conduct when the individuals on a school board should conduct themselves appropriately and professionally. Politics has no place in schools, and indeed, condoning prostitution does not either.

We are asking for her resignation. If you agree, please sign and share this petition to remove Ms. Manrique from the D219 school board.
