Justice For Antonio
A Form of Learning
We all make mistakes in life. It is a form of learning what is right and what is wrong; What to do and what not to. Many of us have guidance to protect us from making mistakes in the first place, others do not have that helping hand.
Growing up in Brooklyn has many pros but unfortunately just as many cons. Getting involved with the wrong crowd in your teenage years when you are young, ignorant, vulnerable and just trying to "fit in" can come unexpectedly. More so as an Italian immigrant trying to adapt to the American life style he was not familiar with.
Antonio's mistakes growing up has now put him in a situation that many of us will never face; Deportation. When he was eighteen years old, receiving his United States Citizenship was an accomplishment he and his family were so proud of. The words "United States Citizen" gave him freedom.
Recently, Antonio received news about his citizenship status but this time it did not call for celebration. The letter stated because of his mistakes growing up they want to revoke his citizenship status and deport him back to Italy. His freedom that took many years to fulfill will be taken away just like that.
We ask anyone please help Antonio fight for his freedom back and help him as he and his family go through this long and stressful appeal process by signing this petition to help push this matter and keep his citizenship.
If Antonio is proud of anything in the world, he is proud to be an AMERICAN CITIZEN.
Thank you!
