Logging On, Type a Status, Post, select emoji or appropriate meme, troll, judge, create opinions, choose to expose opinions, Go Live, create a video, follow, Unfollow, request friend, accept friend request, delete friend request, accept a tag, create a tag., root for a sports team, debate politics, debate religion, ...the list goes on and all of us are guilty of the above mentioned.

These actions have become so routine in our society that we are numb to the real world. Presumed power, intellect and opinion via a status is the new way to "show you care" or "prove a point" Did you get more likes, did you cause a debate that you wouldn't dare say in a face to face conversation in the real world. Did you troll down on someone's status just because it entertains you? Did you share something, or did you simply post a funny meme, selfie, or video just because?

A status , comment, like or share does NOT suffice as a way to make a CHANGE. Words backed by ACTIONS, UNITY, PROGRESS, along with a solid plan to make the change come to life is the answer.

I know there are so many of us that have a love/hate relationship with New Kensington-Arnold. But I am asking , rather pleading, to all of my alumni to please consider my words and hear me out.

I have always been passionate about Valley (those of you who know me, know I still wear my graduation Valley Ring and know I still treasure every friendship that I made within those halls along with homecoming).

If you moved out of the area that is a wonderful thing for you, and I am proud of you if that was your wish. But, no matter where you go...this area is your roots. Your foundation of education was instilled within you from the years of the New Kensington-Arnold school district and your TEACHERS. The diploma handed to you on graduation night was your key to the successes that you have worked so hard in your life to achieve. We, the alumni, hometown or not are spread all over. I am calling out upon on you to please help me with letters to write out and stand by our Alma Mater and our current Valley Viking Football Players:

Last week's Valley game was against Ellwood City and it was ELEMENTARY NIGHT. The local news stations along with the newspapers are hiding the truth behind what caused the fight on the field and a game that could not continue onward. WPIALS are banning Valley unless our coach Muzzy Colosimo is suspended. When I read this, I was outraged and furious. ELLWOOD CITY coaches and players should be punished from the WPIALS due to their demeaning behavior and language. Teaching kids violence is NOT the answer rather, teaching kids CONSEQUENCES for behavior is the true answer. Shame on the Ellwood City coaches for condoning such behavior.

I was the manager of the Valley Boys basketball team 2000-01 and let me tell you. The Deer Lakes backetball game is a prime example of how things go wrong and Valley is ALWAYS blamed. The racial profiling, racial slurring and abuse that our teams go through with an opposing team is disgusting. ( NOT even saying all opposing teams are all bad, a healthy rival in sports is normal)

Enough is enough, this needs exposed and our Vikings , which include our children, the teachers, and the coaches, need our support, our protection, our backing.

How do we stand united? How can one person make a difference? Through intellect and the POWER IN NUMBERS.

Please support me and take 5 minutes sign this petition to help get the truth exposed and stand by our Alma Mater. Sign to support our Black and Gold, along with Coach Muzzy Colosimo, coaching staff to finally get justice for Valley.

Valley coach did right thing for safety of his players. Racial remarks should have no part of any part of life, especially in a high school sports venue. Shame on WPIAL officials for their stance of requiring Valley's coach resign or lose a playoff spot.

I'm a HHS grad but had many Valley friends. Profiling violece and bullying should never be a part of our beloved A K Valley. As Valleys rival team for a long time we "battled for the bridge" but hate was not in the equation. Ellwoods behavior is inexcusable.

This has been going on for years well before I graduated in 2008. It is disheartening to hear that in 2017, an outside team comes to our home field and disrespects our players, coaches, staff, school and community with racial slurs. This has to stop.

It's good to see the community and alumni trying to stand up for these kids, and promote some positivity in this town. Too long have we been portrayed poorly by the media!

As a parent I feel strongly that our children should not be verbally abused by anyone, especially due to their race. If there is going to be a punishment given by WPIAL, it should be equal for both teams.

I am signing this petition because of what I personally saw go down that Friday night. It was not right for both sides, but only one side is getting punished. #justiceforvalley
