Keep Part C specialised courses independent
It is being proposed that the current specialist module options for Part C (i.e. DAL, Medical Humanities, History of Medicine) should be merged to form a separate Medical Humanities BSc. The result is thatthe specialist courses may not be offered as independent options and students wishing to study one of the part C options alongside a medical science would have to study all specialised courses as a separate BSc, rather than as Part C alone withPart B in a medical specialty. Whilst we understand that the long term security of the courses can be at risk, as we have seen with History of Medicine this year, we believe that many more students would miss out if these changes were implemented. We would like to register our opposition to this plan and that we would like the option to a Part C specialised course toremain open for students in future years.
