All Southbelt Baseball Members,

Many of you are aware of the ongoing issues that Southbelt Baseball has encountered between Little League and South Belt Area Sports Association (SBASA). The SBASA seems to be operating under the guidance of the owner of The South Belt Leader. As we've mentioned in the past, the Southbelt Baseball Board has tried repeatedly many times to negotiate access of the fields with Harris County and SBASA but unfortunately have been unsuccessful. SBASA stated in a meeting that there would be a Community Vote. This was scheduled to be held on May 20th so that parents could have the opportunity to vote on which baseball organization they feel fit to operate out of El Franco Lee Sports Complex and sadly again, that did not happen.

Our summer program was CANCELLED because the SBASA and Harris County could not make a decision on who should utilize the fields. The actions of these two organizations along with the South Belt Leader is affecting 500+ players in our community to play baseball. The future of Southbelt Baseball and the status of the current volunteer Board Members are now in your hands!

How can you help?

We're asking parents that want Southbelt Baseball to be the primary baseball program at the sports complex to please sign our petition. Please advocate for yourself and your kids!

We truly appreciate all of our members, let’s keep Southbelt Baseball thriving!

I, as a member of Southbelt Baseball, WANT my child to continue playing baseball under this organization.

I DO NOT want my child to be forced to play under ANY other organization.

In our one season with PONY baseball at Southbelt, we have seen the difference that our board members make on and off the field. Our kids are given opportunities to play ball that exceed those her had previously with Little League. I sign this petition with the utmost urgency that Southbelt Baseball stay at El Franco Lee through the PONY league organization.

I can't believe it has come down to this. My son has been playing baseball for the past fours years and never have we encountered the type of situation we are in now. Pony league should stay at El Franco Lee. To imagine my son in any other league breaks my heart.

Without this organization (Southbelt Baseball PONY), this community will suffer, specifically the boys and girls that will miss opportunities to grow mentally and physically in a positive environment.

Please let the Pony league stay at Southbelt! I have been apart of the Little league ever since my son played T ball, I have NEVER seen upgrades and care given to the fields as much as it has been with the Pony league. The Pony League also gives players to play longer, which is needed for the community.

The organization deserves a place to call home, and why not the one where they’ve vested sweat, tears and love. Love because you see the dedication of the coaches and volunteers towards the players.

This was our first year putting my son in baseball. He was so excited for summer ball. But unfortunately that was taken from him. I hope my son can continue playing for southbelt!
