One of Mason's largest and last remaining Green Resources is at risk of being developed. A proposal to change the Crooked Tree Golf Course into a Planned Unit Development (PUD) of 230 homes has been submitted to Mason's Planning Commission. The development plan directly conflicts with Mason's 2010 Comprehensive Land Use Plan.
Potential negative impacts of the current proposal:
New narrow home lots bordering existing neighborhoods with larger home lots.
Changes to water runoff and drainage.
Inceased student population in school district.
