Brief Summary:
• District needs to cut $3.6 million over next four years due to new state funding cuts
• District has already cut textbooks, supply orders, maintenance, and bus purchases
• District has already cut administrators, teachers, custodians, and support staff positions
• District will lose $750,000 of SAGE revenue
• Class sizes will increase dramatically
• Student programs will be cut at all levels
• Two or more schools will be closed, but still need to be maintained by District
Petition:
We, the undersigned, believe additional cuts will have a negative impact on the quality of education in the Reedsburg School District and be detrimental to the communities of Reedsburg, Rock Springs, Loganville, Ironton, and LaValle. We believe quality schools contribute to the success of a community. We urge the Board of Education to pursue a funding referendum in order to maintain the programs and services currently provided by the School District of Reedsburg.

Reaching this level of support feels heavy because it confirms so many of us recognize what is at stake for our schools. The exhaustion of this fight is real but knowing I am not fighting alone keeps me moving forward.

my kids are in these schools and they deserve better than this. stop taking money away from our future.
Fix the budget without hurting the kids. Simple as that.
THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. Our property taxes are high enough already, where is all that money going???
Ridiculous! The class sizes are already way too big. How are the teachers supposed to actually teach with 30 kids in a room?
so sad to see what is happening to our schools. keep the programs alive.

i grew up in reedsburg and this town needs its schools to stay open. dont destroy our community just to save a buck.
