Get the Lake Links trail through Dellwood
The vision of a safe biking-walking trail around White Bear Lake has been around for 2 decades. In 2018, $2.6 million in state bonding funding brought together Ramsey County, the City of White Bear Lake and White Bear Township and set in motion the incredible transformation along South Shore that will soon include a safe, separated shared-use trail.
In 2020, the Minnesota Legislature assigned another
$2.6 million in bonding funding to
complete one of the last
remaining segments for a safe trail around White Bear Lake; a
1.5-mile trail segment through Dellwood along State Highway 244. The
funding for this shared-use trail is set to expire on December 31,
2024 unless the core stakeholders, Washington County, the
City of Dellwood and MNDoT, come together quickly to work out a
solution.
Collaboration was essential
to finding a solution for South Shore and it can work on
State
Highway 244 in Washington County. Help us urge these three
stakeholders to collaborate and implement the State Highway 244
segment through Dellwood.
Together, we can get this done, but we have to speak up!
Please sign this petition urging Washington County, Dellwood and MNDoT to collaborate to complete this project. Explain in the comments what having a safe separated trail through Dellwood along Highway 244 means to you and your family and your ability to safely bike, walk, and roll around the lake and connect to other trails throughout the region. We will forward your comments to the City of Dellwood, MNDoT and Washington County, as well as your legislative representatives. Petitions like this help communicate to them the grassroots support for this trail, that otherwise might not be heard.
Remember there is a sense of urgency, as the funding window expires at the end of 2024 and the work has to be done by 12/31/2024
THIS PETITION HAS BEEN CLOSED as of 14 July 2023. All comments and the petition results have been forwarded to the elected representatives at state, county and city level. This matter is now in their hands.
Thank you so much
