Please assist as a landlord and tenant laws we are suffering due to unequal rights for landlord. Teanant not paying rent month even years and still stay in your property. We need to make our voices heard by Ontario government, to amend this laws so tenant not misuse it.
I have been reading your messages and the stories of financial ruin from other property owners are truly gut wrenching. While I fight to keep my own home from being lost to these unfair delays I am also pushing our representatives to finally acknowledge the reality of our situation.

Seeing this grow so quickly confirms that I am not alone in this exhausting struggle to protect my property. It feels like the weight of this situation is finally being acknowledged by others who understand the loss I have faced.

Law should be equal. Lanlord must have right to take possession of his/ her property if tennant is not paying rent or when he need the property he can get it with reasonable time period of notice.

We need to amend existing legislation to provide a balance whereby non-paying tenants to vacate rental property as per laws in commercial leases.

Current law is highly prejudice to the landlord. No justice for landlords. In a contested tenant landlord case, landlord has to lose rents of more than $10000.00 without any recourse.
Must amend the provisions asap

Government needs to remember if landlords can't collect there rent. How will they pay mortgage utilities taxes etc. Tenants do damage to property and landlords can't say anything to them. It's only one sided contract. There should be equal rights given to both parties.
