We the undersigned, present this petition to the Congress of the United States of America. First and foremost, let it be known that we strongly oppose the abuse and sexual misconduct inflicted on all people, most especially our children, the most vulnerable of our society. We feel extreme empathy for the victims of such heinous crimes. Be it further known that the highest percentages of said deeds occur in the victims own homes. These atrocities are committed generally by an uncle, grandfather, brother, step-brother, father, or step-father. On some rare occasions, these crimes are committed by the female gender of the family. We as sex offenders, or families of sex offenders, feel the laws that are currently in effect, and those laws to be enacted, are counter productive. There is not a distinction made between a sexually oriented offender, pedophile, or predator. Yet these laws are to be applied all inclusively to these three separate, but very different groups. As written and carried out, these laws will victimize the people that we most want to protect, the sexually abused children. They will see their loved one ripped from the home and imprisoned.
