Opponents of Standardized Dress at LCSC
As parents and taxpayers in the Lebanon Community School District, we are against the proposed standardized dress code. Reasons for implementing a Standardized Dress Code have not been adequately supported by data. Research results are mixed regarding improvement of student test scores. Statistics have not been compiled showing non-compliance of the existing dress code at LCSC. Many of the issues presented at the parent meetings as reasons to adopt Standardized Dress Code are addressed in the current dress code, ie. baggy clothing, no cleavage, no tank tops. See http://www.leb.k12.in.us/pdf/LHS/academics/LHS%20Handbook%202008-2009.pdf for 2008 LHS dress code policy. We, the undersigned, do not support the adoption of a Standardized Dress Code policy.
