Making mistakes is a natural thing that all humans do to learn, at a school where learning is the foundation, students should not face harsh punishments, instead we should be rehabilitating and helping people with issues that they struggle with. This petition is to let mark won stay at Pickering and enable him to learn from his mistakes and prepare him for the future.

Updates

October 26, 2018

I have been meeting with school administrators to discuss a better way forward for Mark. Seeing so many people agree that we should focus on support rather than punishment gives me hope that we can change the culture here.

October 26, 2018

Seeing the momentum behind this reminds me every single day that Mark belongs at this school. Your support gives me hope that the administration will finally see him the way I do.

if PC knew anything about their students or knew anything at all about life they would know that people need to grow from mistakes not run from them. Clearly they don’t care about their students cause if they did they would try to figure out ideas to help the situation, not run from it. #FreeMark #PCtakesL’s

It is important to let students learn and grow from mistakes. There are other ways to deal with situations such as these that will better the student for the future and not just toss them aside.

Mark is a genuinly good guy with his heart in the right place. He didn’t mean harm and just lost his temper. He deserves to be treated just and equally. He is the most caring guy I’ve met and we would be so lucky to have him back.

Mark is a genuine good dude and even though I believe in the fact that there should be consequences for your actions, there becomes a point where those consequences become to extreme. What mark did was not right but in his own defense he should not be punished this heavily for his actions. #freemarkwon
