Westport, CT - Staples High School Football. This petition calls for a delay in laying down our new track around the new football field until Sprint 2020. This will allow our football team to have their season as originally scheduled playing all their home games on their new home field. The new football field is ready, but we’re facing the prospect of only having three home games this season for our 27 seniors because the track will take many more weeks to get set. The track isn’t used for formal competition until the Spring. Please join us in fixing this problem. Our seniors have been through a lot of turmoil over the past three years and we feel they deserve to play their last home games on their home field. This field is ready for play. Let’s let them play!
