The petition will be sent to Lewis Morton of PennDOT for a response.
Those of us traveling Route 191 (Paradise Valley Rd), and the many residents of the Timber Hill Community within Paradise and Price Townships, are requesting consideration and prompt action from PennDOT to minimize the risk of vehicular accidents and injuries at this potentially dangerous intersection. The upcoming bridge/tunnel project on Route 191 in Stroud Twp will potentially exacerbate the risks as drivers will impatiently add significant travel time as they navigate the area roads. Let’s be proactive.
The following are proposed solutions:
1) Install a series of signs ahead of the intersection, not just the type that is currently in place, with the closest sign a blinking sign that will alert drivers to the intersection.
2) Lower the speed limit in both directions beginning 1/4 mile out to 35 mph.
3) Install a “ Reduce speed dangerous intersection” sign.
4) Install rumble strips.
Any or all of these proposals are ways to improve the current situation. The current single sign is inadequate and too close in distance to the intersection to provide drivers with adequate warning to the intersection.
We, the undersigned call on PennDOT to take action to insure the safety of all drivers traveling through the area.
The growth of this petition reached a point that now demands a formal review from the regional office. I am currently drafting a letter to Lewis Morton that outlines our proposed safety measures and requests a meeting to discuss official implementation.

Need flashers at intersection also. The turn to Btowns Hill Rd. Is not 90 degrees,
it's more like 120 degrees.
A bridge abutment blocks car traffic views.

I've been in Timber Hill for 30 years now. People have been killed at and near this intersection. It's dangerous from both directions. Coming from Mt Pocono and coming out at Browns Hill RD. Something definitely needs to be done in both directions.

This intersection is an accident waiting to happen! Coming off Brown HillRd onto Rt 191 is difficult to see oncoming traffic and making a right hand turn from Rt191 onto Browns Hill Rd is extremely difficult. Perhaps if someone with authority in your office drove this route they could experience the danger we experience daily!

On our way to a Christmas party on the 23rd there was another car wreck at this junction with citizens directing traffic and a child laying flat on their back awaiting EMT's.

Just lowering the speed limit clearly won’t do anything since no speed is monitored around here nor does anyone follow it. Proper signage and flashing lights AND lowering the speed limit would be ideal. Also, that concrete bridge railing should be eliminated so people can actually see when pulling out.
