The city confirmed that new lights will be installed along that stretch of Semoran. I am drained from this fight but the relief is overwhelming. We will stay alert until the work is actually finished.

Final supporters
His was just one of three pedestrian/cyclist deaths on Semoran Blvd in the last year and a half between Hanging Moss Road and 21 Century Blvd. near Baldwin Park. All of these occurred in the evening as Semoran has virtually no lighting on this half mile stretch of road making it extremely dangerous to residents and visitors to Baldwin Park and the surrounding areas.
We are therefore asking the City of Orlando and the neighboring communities and businesses to support us in our efforts to make Orlando safer by installing street lights on Semoran Blvd. These lights will help ensure that drivers can properly identify pedestrians and cyclists crossing the street and significantly decrease the mortality risk from traffic accidents in the Baldwin Park area.

The path forward feels exhausting and the bureaucracy is slow to respond to our pleas for basic safety on Semoran. We are nearly at five hundred signatures so please push this to someone new tonight because we need a undeniable show of strength to move the city.

Seeing these one hundred names attached to the cause feels like a heavy weight being lifted because it proves I am not alone in this fight for the road. The process is exhausting but I will keep pushing until the city finally acknowledges the danger on Semoran Boulevard.

The road ahead feels long and the indifference from the city is heavy. We are approaching one hundred signatures and reaching that number will force them to at least look at our request. Keep pushing this forward.

seriously how is there no light there?? i drive through here every day and its impossible to see anyone walking
I live right by baldwin park and avoid this road at night constant danger
too many accidents lately. just put the lights up already!!!
that stretch of road is a death trap at night somebody needs to fix this before another person gets hit
