My letter to Ellen Degeneres. Dear Ellen, I reach out to you all in need of help. Me and my wife recently filed for domestic partnership, but we want a wedding. But since being out on disability for 7 months for back surgery, unfortunately we can not afford it at this time. She has a 5 year old son now and want to start having a baby right after the wedding so he can have a little brother or sister closer to his own age. But we dont want to have another child without getting married first. We do not want an extravagant wedding. We were planning on a small hall but since our circumstances dont allow that we are most likely going to do it in our home. It will be a tight squeeze since we hope to have 150 people or so. My wife has 7 sisters, 2 brothers and 2 very close sister in laws, plus brother in laws, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles plus very close friends. I, myself, dont have many people to invite but want this to be absolutely perfect for her. She deserves all this and more. She has raised her 5 year old son without the help, financially or other, from the boys father. She has busted her ass just to provide for him as best as she can and thats pretty damn good. We rent a home in Staten Island, NY where she has just been incredible. I am still out of work due to my back but hope to be going back soon, if my doctor allows at my next visit, but try and do my part around the house as much as possible, even if just making sure dinner is on the table when she gets home from her 2 hour commute each way to work. But I would love to give her the wedding of her dreams, which like I said really isnt much. She just wants to make sure her family can be there and her son can be a part of the wedding. A friend of ours became an ordained minister to be able to do the ceremony for us which meant the world to us. Now only a little bit more can make it perfect. I am asking for any help you can provide for us. Most of her family welcomed our relationship (which was VERY new to them and her) with open arms. And would love to show them my appreciation by making her the happiest bride in the world. Our wedding date is set for January 23, 2010. Please help me make the love of my lifes dreams come true!
