My son and his friends regularly come home with a lunch box which is almost untouched because they have not been given enough time to eat and play.
Senior Management say that the children are given an hour for lunch but 30 minutes of this is 'supervised play' i.e. PE and another 5-10 minutes or so is probably taken up by lining up to go in to lunch / go back into the classroom. This leaves a maximum of 20 minutes to both eat, talk and try and get some playing time in with your friends. Having to do an afternoon of lessons on a nearly empty stomach can't be good for concentration and missing out on social play / interaction is also a false economy.
This petition is to get Senior Management to take the concerns of parents seriously and to increase the amount of time our kids get to eat and play at school.
Yes my son has a pack lunch and majority of the time he does not get time to eat his allowance and have play time, so there are times where he has no lunch so that he gets a playtime or he eats his lunch and there's no play time. I don't think that is fare on any child this has to be changed, so that they get enough time to eat and get their playtime. When I was going to school I had my lunch and got all of my playtime every single day.
