Longer sentences for animal abusers
What a corrupt system if animal abusers are sentenced to feeble periods of time in prison for the abuse and suffering of animals.
We live in a world where we are sickened by child murders and people will spend up to 20 years in prison. If someone neglects a child to the extent where they die; they are inprisoned. So why should we lighten the sentences for animal abusers?
In Hastings, a farmer whom abused pigs and chickens, with neglect- causing death and maimed animals, received an £80 fine and community service.
James Gray and his family abused over 100 horses, with neglect and unfair treatment. He caused many to die. Yet he was let out of prison after a meer 8 weeks.
Where is the sense of equality and justice toward animals today? Where is the respect that they deserve and for people whom cause harm and suffering to animals, to be bought to justice and to recieve adequate punishments.
We ask you to review the current laws and sentences thrown upon animal abusers and to consider a reform.
We are an ethical and humane culture and we should begin to behave in a civilised way, respecting our environment and appreciating the animals which share this planet with us.
Thank you.
