Save The Louisville Volunteer Fire Department
A letter was given to the Louisville Fire Department from the Louisville Town Board that reads: The Louisville Town Board will be making some changes with regard to the Louisville Volunteer Fire Department. Starting immediately the FD will no longer be able to run firematci drills on Town property. If you are running firematic drills at Station #2 you will need to stay off town property. The Fire Department needs to remove all firematic drill equipment from Arena Drive. The town will be removing the platform from the arch at Arena Drive. This platform belongs to the Fire Department, please let Dewey know where you would like the platform. The locks on the Towns fuel tank will be changed. The Fire Department will need to contact Vern Fenlong, Highway Superintendent, to fuel Fire Department vehicles that are use for fire fighting purposes. The Town Board will be setting up a public hearing on June 5 at 6pm at the Louisville Town Office to get input from the community concerning the possible termination of the contract between the Town of Louisville and the Louisville Volunteer Fire Department. The Town Board Meeting will be held on Wednesday June 5th at 6:00pm at the Louisville Town Office if you would like to attend. Please sign this petition and/or come show your support for keeping the Fire Department entact. This is an organization that we all have needed at one time or another. The men and woman that fight the fires that have affected our neighbors and family members need the communities support in fighting to keep the Fire Department open. Fire taxes will rise, homeowers insurance will rise and we will not have our own department if the contract is terminated by the Town Board. They fight to keep our community safe and now its time for the community to fight back for them!
