I was born and raised here in the North East community. Highway 41 a is vital artery that cuts across southern Duplin County and our community. We have witnessed many fatal car accidents due to speed over the years. The latest was July, 23 where unfortunately a man lost his life. This one literally hit me close to home because it happened in my front yard. Many community members have contacted the State about concerns in hopes of convincing them to lower the speed limit. Those attempts have failed.This petition is going to be our community's way of standing together and telling the State that lowering the speed limit through the River Landing and North East is a need!.
