Kobe was more than a basketball player. He was an icon and living legend that embodied work ethic, dedication, and perseverance. This man gave his life to basketball only to see his be taken away just as he was able to begin his own.

Sacrifice is something the greats of sports know all too well. It was that perhaps nobody other than Kobe Bryant himself knew best. He not only gave his mind and body to the sport of basketball, but also his “soul and spirit” as he describes it in his Oscar winning short film, ‘Dear Basketball.

Kobe Bryant leaves behind a family that made sacrifices with hopes of a future in which they could make up for lost time. Unfortunately his kids will have to navigate life without a father and their mother without a husband. The least that the NBA could do is pay tribute to Kobe and his family by dedicating the logo to a silhouette of him in honor of the man that made the sport global.
