Mariah Sammons For SBA Vice President
Hi Everyone,
My name is Mariah Sammons and I am a 1L student. I have passion for advocacy, and desire to ensure that everyone's voices are heard. I believe I would be perfect for SBA Vice President because I want to ensue that we are all heard, and this is a great opportunity for me to further champion the rights and equality of you, my fellow students.
I believe that with proper communication from our students to the SBA board I can ensure that everyone's voices are a part of our schools’ decisions. As a founder of a non-profit charity, A Starrs Initiative, I’m dedicated to representing the needs of the community. I demonstrate commitment to service and leadership in the community, and now I want to do it for us here at school as the SBA Vice President.
As a full time working mother of two children, full time law student, legal aid representative, and founder of a successful non-profit organization, I believe that I represent the meaning of balance, leadership, and multitasking--necessary skills to be a successful SBA Vice President. I am a leader in my community, and I intend to be an asset to our law school as SBA Vice President.
My skills in communication and advocacy are undoubtedly valuable assets for the role of Vice President, where effective communication and representation are key responsibilities of this role.
I understand the importance of diversity and inclusion, which are vital aspects of any community, especially within our law school environment.
I pledge to ensure that all of our voices are represented and that everyone feels included, which aligns with the core values of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
With the experience I possess, I believe that I would be the best fit for the SBA Vice President position, and be the voice of those who may feel unheard. I interact with every student I encounter, and I believe that my communication and advocacy skills make me the absolute best fit for role of SBA Vice President.
At the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, we thrive because of our diverse student body, rich culture, and unique individual differences, and I plan to highlight all of us through effective representation.
As SBA Vice President, I will ensure that we are heard, and that our time on our law school journey together will be positive, memorable and inclusive.
Signed,
Your SBA Vice President Hopeful,
Candidate Mariah A. Sammons
