Marks and Spencer finally backed down and confirmed they are staying in Holland. You shoved this in their faces until they had no choice but to listen. Keep your eyes open because we will hold them to this promise.

We found out that Marks and Spencer made a 21 year old employee take down his petition. Often retailers underestimate the power of social media.

As customers of Marks and Spencer we want them to reconsider and stay in Holland. We can’t do without their British high standard food, their gluten free range and clothes that come in different length.

So leave your signature and share this link with your friends, family, colleagues and followers in your social media network.

Marks and Spencer thinks they can silence our community by bullying one employee but this momentum proves they have no idea who they are dealing with. We are not backing down until they realize that closing these stores is a massive mistake.

The initial proportions were wrongly estimated (75% clothing, 25% food). Make two floors of The Hague into food and dining; clothes we can get online.

As a British expat, M&S opening in NL has really improved things. Other shops have had to lengthen their opening times, improve their customer service and offer better food options. All thanks to the competition. Please don't leave us with just AH.

M&S is the only shop in the Netherlands that supplies jeans & clothing for the shorter more pear shaped figure. And how will be manage without M&S curries and crumpets ?

I don't understand why M&S would spend large amounts of money setting up a store in the Hague and only give it two years before closing again.

If M&S Amsterdam closes then there will be nowhere for ex-pats to buy their favourite foods as the smaller shops closed after M&S re-opened. M&S have a duty to keep that store (and Den Haag for that matter) open!

We love the food & the clothing, they left us once before, we were very sad then. When they came back we were over joyed, but then 18 months after investing not a small amount in a wonderful new store in The Hague they want to go again, we are very disappointed and sad, please don't go!!
