Don't Lose NYS Wedding Business!
Dear Senator:
With thousands of same-sex couples forced to leave New York for their weddings every year, New York caterers, florists, wedding planners, banquet halls, bridal shops, tuxedo rentals, hotels, limo drivers, musicians, wedding officiants and many more New York businesses are losing money. Weddings are big business ... business that should stay right here in New York, creating jobs for New Yorkers and generating revenue for the state. On December 2, 2009, the State Senate voted to send this business elsewhere, losing as much as $50 million a year in revenue for New York.
If you voted for equality and to sustain New York's businesses: Thank you! If not, please consider the businesses you hurt by sending vitally needed revenues to Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, the District of Columbia, and Canada.
Marriage Equality Means Business For New York.
Sincerely,
Rob Lassegue
